Wilson's Activity Centre

Children derive endless enjoyment from taking part in the endless programme of activities we run in the 200 acres of rolling countryside that accompanies the school, which lies between Loughs Owel and Derravaragh, two of Ireland's most picturesque lakes.
The facilties here are second to none - modern buildings, ample playing fields, a multi-sports hall, tennis courts, and swimming pool. There's even a theatre here, and we make great use of it - and the dormitories are newly-refurbished.
It's just an hour from Dublin, too. We think it all makes for an outstanding summer camp venue, and we think you'll agree when you visit.

Westmeath - Midland's Lake Distract

Mullingar, in the heart of the midlands' Lake District, had a population of 18,529 at the 2006 census, making it the largest town in Co. Westmeath. The town had a proud tradition of cattle-trading up until 2003, when its cattle market was finally closed for development of a mixed commercial and residential scheme called the Market Point.
Mullingar is also famous for the neighbouring lakes, Lough Owel and Lough Ennell, which attract many anglers, as well as Lough Derravaragh. Lough Derravaragh is best known for its connection with the Irish legend of the Children of Lir. After being turned into swans, the four children of King Lir spent three hundred years on Lough Derravaragh before moving to other locations around Ireland.
Co. Westmeath is also popularly called the Lake County. The county was once part of the ancient province of Meath and later of County Meath, this association was ended in 1543 when County Westmeath was created.
